WORLD CONGRESS IT, ADELAIDE: Fuji Xerox Australia
today announced it had signed with Strategic
Ecommerce, an Australian e-procurement company and the
technology provider for the South Australian Local Government
E-procurement Initiative, enabling 68 South Australian councils
to purchase goods and services online.
"This is an important opportunity for
Fuji Xerox Australia, raising awareness of our products and
services amongst important government purchasers - via the
medium of eCommerce, " said Terry Gatward, eBusiness
Manager, Fuji Xerox Australia.
"We are delighted that Fuji Xerox Australia
is using our StraightSELL
online catalogue software," said Jamie Lakes, Senior
Project Manager of Strategic Ecommerce. "It is of particular
benefit to our existing clients using our online buying system
called StraightBUY,
already experiencing the reduced administration costs associated
with online purchasing, to have access to the Fuji Xerox product
range."
Purchasers will be able to access an online
catalogue of Fuji Xerox's products and services - including
printers, scanners, fax machines, multi-function devices,
copiers and document management software.
Gatward added: "Fuji Xerox already
offers on-line procurement of its supplies - this new agreement
gives customers convenient, functional tools to help them
be more productive while also driving cost savings."
As part of its ongoing initiative, Fuji
Xerox has adopted the OBI catalogue standard along with other
technology standards. "This will ultimately enable integration
with customers' backend systems reducing the procurement cost
of our products - as well as helping us provide personalised
solutions and services, complementing our other sales channels
for better B2B relations."
